June Currently & Some New Items in my Store

I'm linking up with Farley for the month of June.

The hubs and I went to Honolulu for 10 days for our honeymoon. It was amazing!! I would LOVE to go back within the next 5 years, but I'm not sure if that'll happen.

I'm loving the it is summer break! It's definitely been long overdue after the winter that we've had here in Indiana.  I'm more of a night owl and not so much a morning person.  We have been blessed with an almost 3 year old who would rather sleep a little later than get up early. PTL! She definitely takes after her momma there. I love that I don't have to set my alarm and I can still sleep in until almost 8:30 every morning if I want to.  Which let's be honest-I will.

Since I was in my classroom SO much last summer, I'm vowing not to do the same this year and spend more time with my girl.  Each week we'll rotate fun places to go such as JumpIt, one of our local gymnastics gyms that host an hour long open gym daily, the pool, the park, etc.  Tomorrow will either be the gym or JumpIt. I may just ask the little tomorrow morning and we'll do whatever she decides.

A couple of years ago I started taking monthly trips to Goodwill and I have become obsessed ever since. I have found some really great things and for a great price there. I'm thinking my first visit of the summer will be later this week.

I have about 7 loads of laundry that either need cleaned, folded or put away. I loathe laundry! I just wish I could wear my clothes and when I'm done with them, take them off, snap my fingers and they're clean and pressed. When somebody figures out how to do that I would like to be the first on your list to contact!

I started working out today with a bike ride with my little. I'm planning on doing this every morning with her as part of my workout to try and lose some weight.  I've already been to the library to get some summer reading books, although I haven't started one yet.  Would love to get away to New Buffalo, MI at some point this summer with the hubs. It's the closest thing to a beach that we have in these parts. I'm hoping that will curb my urge to book a beach vaca for next year already.

I've already been a busy bee working on stuff for my classroom and TPT in my short week since school got out.

First up, my math board is now in primary colors as well as bright colors. As is the case with all of my new products it is marked 50% until Wednesday morning.  This one is $3.75.

Next up are two sets of math manipulative labels.  We needed some for our classroom and I couldn't find a set on TPT that I loved, so I made my own.  One set is square labels and the other is round.  We're using the round set in our room. They were the perfect thing for our variety of bins that we have our math manipulatives in.  They are also on sale until Wednesday morning at $1.25.

I may set a personal record for posts in a week this week! If I haven't already! I feel like I'm finally getting the hang of this blogging thang!

BOGGLE Math, Get Your BOGGLE Math

I have used BOGGLE Math in my classroom for a couple of years now. I love it. The kids love it. And it's a great, easy way for students to get better practice with addition, subtraction, and their overall number sense.  One of the best ways that kids like to learn is by playing games. They are learning and practicing their math skills without even realizing it.  To me, those are the best!

What's also great about BOGGLE is that it can be played in a variety of ways-whole group, small group, partners, or individually.  This year, I just lined bulletin board numbers up on the back of a bookshelf that faces outward. While I love the way it looks, it's just not realistic for me in my classroom as far as feasibility in changing the numbers out on a frequent basis.  Hence, the poster idea with these packs.  I plan on using it in my room by copying each color page and laminating. Then I'll either just hang up each poster individually every 2 weeks or month, depending on how frequently I want to change the board.  I've also thought about hole punching both corners and hanging the whole pack of posters on small binder rings so that all I have to do is flip the page whenever I need to and they're all right there at my fingertips.  The verdict is still out on that one so I'll let you know once I make a decision.

So, I've added a couple of BOGGLE Math options that I've been working on to my TPT store.  I've still got a couple of more "decorative" ideas up my sleeve that I'll be adding to the store once I get them finished. Here's what is new:

That's it for tonight friends!  I'm off to bed. Tomorrow is the last day of my Spring Break and then it's 9 full, straight weeks until SUMMER BREAK!  The countdown will officially begin!

I'm On a Roll! {No Pun Intended}

I have been a madwoman this summer! I really don't feel like I've had much of a break really. Between packing up my classroom, moving into a new room, reorganizing and setting up my new room {which still is not done yet! EEK!}, and creating things for our new reading series, I've barely had any time to just sit back and relax. Most nights, once Kayleigh goes to bed I've been coming upstairs to work on things on the computer. The hubs has not been a big fan of this, but I keep telling him it should make my life easier once the school year begins. I just hope I'm right.

Having said that, I've created a couple of things that have been added to my TPT store over the last couple of weeks.  First up is a Roll & Write pack specifically for the 1st grade Nat Geo Reach for Reading high frequency words each week. You know these little dice...
Well I started using them last year for Roll & Write activities and I fell. in. love. with them! The best part-SO DID THE KIDDOS! Roll & Write quickly became one of their favorite station activities.  The pack includes word cards with each of the high frequency words from the series that will fit perfectly into these die.  Simply print, laminate, and cut and you're ready to go! This pack wouldn't be complete without the recording sheet, so I included that too. It's in my TPT store for $3.50. Click the picture below to see more.

Next up, a homework binder. I have struggled with keeping track of student homework every year! I'm hoping this is the key to my problem. I now have a binder, known as the homework binder that will be beside my desk everyday.  As I pass back student homework each day, I can quickly tell who did and did not do their homework. Those students who do not complete their homework will have to put their name in the homework binder for that week. The student will also have to put what the assignment was and why it was not completed. It is the student's responsibility to get the homework completed at some point throughout the day {more than likely during lunch recess}.  Once the homework is completed and checked by me, the student may highlight their name in the binder showing that they completed and turned in the work.  This will be great to have as a reference at conferences to show parents. I'm really hoping as great in "real life" as it does in my mind. It is for sale for $2.50 in my TPT store. Click the picture below to check it out!
And last, but not least, Math Fact BANG! Just like my Nat Geo vocab. word BANG!, I have created a math set for both addition and subtraction facts. I am really looking forward to using these as part of our math stations this year! I'm sure the kids will love them just as much as they love the vocabulary version.  Simply print the facts on some Avery labels, apply the labels to the large popsicle sticks, and put them in a container. Instant math fact practice at your kiddo's fingertips.  They are both in my TPT for $2.50 each. Click the pictures to get to each product.

Well folks, it's off to bed for this girl. I'm hoping to get a little time in my classroom tomorrow morning while the hubs is smoking some pork loins for our nephew's birthday party tomorrow afternoon. We'll see if that actually happens.  To end on a good note, next Friday at this time we will be leaving to head to Florida for a week. I. CAN'T. WAIT!!!!

P.S. Don't forget to follow me through Google or BlogLovin'! I'm considering a giveaway of any item in my store once I hit 15 followers!
